Antique chart of the English Channel and surrounding areas, "compiled from the recent surveys made by order of the British and French Governments" and published by James Imray and Son, 1879. Includes the coasts of Ireland, Wales, England, France. Inset maps of Plymouth, the Scilly Isles, Portsmouth, Cherourg, Needles Passage, Entrance to the River Seine, Portland, the Downs, Penzance Bay, Dartmouth, the coast from Calaus to Boulogne, and Falmouth. Twelve rececooggprofiles. Stamped by E. Dillon Chronometer Watchmaker San Francisco. Blueback. Plotting in pencil and red pencil. Fair to good antique condition. Chart is whole, with some vertical creases, horizontal wrinkles, mild stains especially on the left side, tear on left side. Measures approx. 38.5 x 75 inches to the neatline. Can be professionally restored for an additional cost.
