Antique nautical chart of the entrance to the Mediterranean Ocean and vicinity, by James Imray, 1852, additions to 1856. This chart shows the coasts of Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Northern Africa, etc. With Gibraltar, Sicily, Sardegna, Corsica, the French Riviera, and more. Twenty inset maps of harbors, including Naples, Valetta, Cadiz, Barcelona, Nice, Genoa, and Algier Bay. Numerous compass roses throughout. Four delicately rendered recognition profiles. Comprises two joined sheets, blueback. Poor to fair condition with vertical creases, horizontal wrinkling, significant tears on left side mostly affecting blank space, stains throughout, toning, some imperfect repairs on left edge, wear and tears on other edges. Measures approx. 38.5 x 48 inches to the neatline. Can be professionally restored for an additional cost.
