Genuine Antique Nautical Chart

1885

Maker: US Coast Survey.

Antique Nautical Chart No. 120, New York Bay and Harbor, New York, by A. D. Bache, showing New York City, the mouth of the Hudson River, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Jamaica Bay, Bronx, NY, Jersey City, NJ, and Bronx, Raritan Bay, and Sandy Hook, NJ. Chart is dated to 1885 but mentions under Variations of the Magnetic Needle, the Annual increase in 1887, suggesting it was updated slightly after 1885. Very good restored condition, has been archivally cleaned and backed. Some signs of age are still visible, including wrinkles, repaired tears, paper loss in upper left corner, but it should look great when framed. Measures approximately 33" x 26" inches to the neatline and 38 x 30 to the edges. The first publication of chart 120 was in 1866. This is the updated 1885 chart. **NOTE- because this map requires extra insurance for shipping, an additional charge will appear on your card after your original purchase. If you would like to know what that charge will be, please contact us.**
