Hand colored antique coastal report chart of the Galveston Bay area off the Gulf of Mexico (including present-day Trinity Bay) near Houston, Texas. Shows Matagorda Bay to Sabine Lake. Sub-Sketch Showing the progress of the Survey of Rio Grande and Vicinity. Created by information collection by the United States Coast Survey in 1848 and 1853. Includes Astronomical and Magnetic Stations. Very good antique condition with toning along the folds and edges, and a few small spots. Page measures approximately 7.5 x 21.5.
