Antique nautical chart showing Fishers Island Sound at the entrance to Long Island Sound, by US Coast and Geodetic Survey, 1891. This chart shows water depth and other navigation information, and also includes land information such as the route of the New York, Providence, and Boston Rail Road. Cities shown include Mystic and Stonington, Connecticut, and just up to Westerly, Rhode Island. This chart has been restored and rebacked with repaired edge wear and a repaired tear at the top left. There is light toning with a water stain at the lower left, some minor stains at edges, and very minor wrinkling from before it was backed. Remember that this was a working document that was used to navigate these waters on a ship in the late 1800s, so some signs of use are to be expected. approx. 28.5 x 41.5 inches. **SOLD** **NOTE- because this map requires extra insurance for shipping, an additional charge will appear on your card after your original purchase. If you would like to know what that charge will be, please contact us.**
