1861
Maker: Valentine's Manual
Antique color lithograph print published in D. T. Valentine's 1861 manual of New York City, shows a view of firemen parading around the George Washington equestrian statue in Union Square, Manhattan, as part of the celebrations for the completion of the transatlantic cable in 1858. The circumambulation of Washington's monument was supposedly a detour from the original route which simply ran the length of Broadway. Good condition, approximately 4.5" x 7" to the paper edges.
