Maker: Valentine's Manual
Antique black & white lithograph print published in D. T. Valentine's 1861 manual of New York City, shows a view of cattle being coralled into an enclosure beside the Bulls Head Tavern on Bowery Street, owned by Henry Astor of the Astor family. During the Revolutionary War, the tavern served as a recruitment center for British Loyalists, however it was most famously utilized by George Washington as a temporary headquarters. Good condition, approximately 4.5" x 7" to the paper edges.
