Antique hand colored map from the Atlas of Long Island, New York, by Beers, Comstock & Cline, 1873. Centerfold map shows Ravenswood, Part of Long Island City (Queens), with East River, Sunswick Creek, etc. Back sides are Newtown on one side and Corona or West Flushing on the other side. These are all parts of modern Queens. Newtown was once its own town, but became Elmhurst in the 1890s when it became part of the City of Greater New York. These maps show businesses, churches, roads, railroads, parks, property owners. Original hand-coloring. Measures approx. 14 x 22 inches (centerfold, to the neatline) and 10.75 x 14 inches on verso maps. Good to Very good overall antique condition with mild toning throughout, some areas of minor foxing, mild creasing/wrinkling of the paper, and some very minor roughing/very small tears at the outer edges of the paper.
