Hand-Colored Genuine Antique Print
1872
Maker: Picturesque America.
Hand-colored antique print showing a scene on the East River, apparently looking toward Manhattan New York City where a tall building is being constructed. The artist captured an interesting contrast between the new construction in the background and the older sail boats in the foreground. From William Cullen Bryant's classic 1872 work, "Picturesque America." Uncolored illustration on verso titled "Glimpse of New York, from the Narrows." Very good condition with some foxing in the margins. Paper is fragile. Recent color. Approx. 6.25 x 9 inches to the image edges not including title.
