Maker: Ballou's Pictorial
Antique print of a view in Waltham, MA, from Ballou's Pictorial, March 15, 1856. The text describes the image as "a fine view of the central part of the pleasant and flourishing town of Waltham" on Main Street. The image shows a dirt street with several horse-drawn carriages, and buildings on the sides with trees. Ballou's Pictorial Drawing Room Companion was a Boston publication and the image at the top is the city of Boston. Image measures approx. 6.5 x 9.5 and the total page size is approx. 15 x 11 inches. Very good antique condition with mild toning that is slightly darker at edges. Note: any "rainbows" or strange patterns in the image are called moire pattern- caused by taking a digital photo or scan of the many parallel lines in the engraved print- these are not in the print and we can try to take more photos if you are concerned. This print could be hand-colored by our professional colorist for an additional $50.
