Vintage reprint of Maury's Whale Chart. This is chart was first published in 1851 and then reissued many times by the Hydrographic Office of the US Navy. We find it notable that the seal on this version says US Hydrographical Office because we cannot find any other examples of charts with this seal- only the Whale Chart. This was likely issued circa 1940s. It shows the areas where sperm and right whales can be found, and at what times of year. Very good condition with some slight foxing and some tape at the paper edges. Measures approx. 24.5 x 37.5 inches to the neatline.
