Genuine Antique Map
1695 / 1722
Maker: Morden
Antique hand-colored map of Nottinghamshire, a landlocked county in the East Midlands region of England, by Robert Morden, first published in 1695 and again in 1722. This map is undated and it is unclear in which edition of Camden's "Britannia: Or a Chorographical Description of Great Britain and Ireland Together with the Adjacent Islands..." this map was published. It shows towns, villages, country estates, roads, and more. Topographic information is depicted pictorially. Elegant hand coloring and a handsome cartouche. poor to fair antique condition with overall toning that is lighter in some areas, wrinkling of the antique paper especially at the top, tight margins on sides, some small tears and repaired paper loss in upper right corner and lower left side. Measures approx. 13.75 x 16.5 inches to the neatline. Priced as-is. This map is currently framed in an old frame. The frame is sturdy but in fair condition with wear at the edges. This map could be removed from the frame and shipped unframed, which would reduce the cost of shipping.
