Maker: Lapie
Antique page with two maps of Europe showing the political boundaries in 1789 and 1813, published by Lapie in 1831. In 1789, France was on the cusp of revolution. In 1813, France, under Napoleon Bonaparte, faced a major crisis as the War of the Sixth Coalition intensified. The year saw decisive defeats, including the Battle of Leipzig, which significantly weakened French power in Europe. The Peninsular War in Spain also concluded with French withdrawal, and the allies began invading France from the east. Original hand-coloring. Fair to good antique condition, with foxin at the paper edges but the maps are largely clean. Measures approx. 21.5 x 15.5 inches to the neatline.
