Antique page of illustrations from The Illustrated London News, September 24, 1853. Shows Hagia Sophia and the Arsenal. The Imperial Arsenal was the main base and naval shipyard of the Ottoman Empire from the 16th century to the end of the Empire. It was located on the Golden Horn in the Ottoman capital, Constantinople. Very good condition with minor signs of age. Could be hand-colored by our professional colorist for an additional cost (please contact us if interested). Page measures approx. 16 x 11.25 inches.
Note: any "rainbows" or strange patterns in the image are called moire pattern- caused by taking a digital photo or scan of the many parallel lines in the print- these are not in the print and we can try to take more photos if you are concerned.
