1811
Maker: Carey.
Antique uncolored map of part of France by Carey, 1811, from the 1811 edition of Carey's General Atlas. This is the last edition of Carey's General Atlas that uses the maps from the 1795 American Atlas and 1795 General Atlas For Guthrie's Geography essentially unchanged. This map was originally published in the 1795 atlas during early part of the French Revolutionary Wars, although by the time the 1811 atlas was published, France had moved on to the Napoleonic Wars. It shows the northern part of France with the English Channel. Also includes the Netherlands and part of Germany. Very good condition with a few spots/stains, mostly in the margins. Visible plate mark. Approx. 6.75 x 10 inches to the neatline.
