1894
Maker: George E. Norris.
Rare and desirable antique bird's eye view map of Chatham by George E. Norris published in 1894. As Cape towns developed, detailed renderings of buildings and land features were desired. This one shows the land formed by geological moraine, with its many kettle-hole ponds. A smaller view at the bottom left is titled "Looking North From Depot" and the lower right holds the number key that corresponds with the numbered buildings in the image. Ships can be seen on the horizon and Monomoy stretches out of sight. Very good condition with some minor signs of age- a repaired tear in the upper left, a small repaired hole, some minor surface damage in the lower right, a few mild stains and wrinkles. Measures approx. 15 x 22 inches to the border lines. **NOTE- because this map requires extra insurance for shipping, an additional charge will appear on your card after your original purchase. If you would like to know what that charge will be, please contact us.** **SOLD**
