1920s
Maker: W. Garnet
Antique pictorial map of the White Mountains area, by W. Garnet, published by the Flume Reservation, Franconia Notch, c. 1920s. This charming pictorial map includes illustrations throughout showing various local sights, activities, animals, and more. One of our favorites is the "Famous Naturalist on field trip" which shows him salting a bird's tail (there was an old myth that you could catch a bird by salting it's tail)! Includes many of the mountains with their heights, also highways and roads, rivers, and towns. Measures approx. 10 x 6.25 inches to the neatline.
