Antique board game map of the United States by Parker Brothers, 1901. This stunning map is a folding game board, with illustrations throughout and a horizon at top. “The United States Game” was a board game first produced in 1901 by the Parker Brothers of Salem, Massachusetts. Two or more players would traverse the United States, some from the West Coast travelling East and some from the East Coast travelling West. Each player draws a card (not included), which indicates the cities they must stop at on their way to the other side of the game board and then back to the starting city. The first player to complete the trip successfully wins the game. Players travel along railroads and stop at various cities, with major cities in red and smaller cities in gold. Metallic gold dots and border and some text. Numerous ships sail the oceans and Great Lakes. Cards and other pieces not included. Fair to good condition with wear at the edges of the board and along the center fold, some mild surface soil. Measures approx. 17.5 x 32.75 inches overall. Ships folded.
