Antique Poster for the 1936 Winter Olympics, reading: Deutschland 1936, IV Olympische Winterspiele, Garmisch-partenkirchen, 6-16. Februar 1936. Alpine skiing made its first appearance in the winter Olympics as the combined, which added a skier's results in both the downhill and slalom. 1936 is the last year in which the Summer and Winter Games were both held in the same country. This poster was created by Ludwig Hohlwein and was printed in 13 different languages and distributed around the world. This is the German version. It is considered one of the most memorable images from the 1936 Olympic games and was also printed on post cards and brochures. It is in very good antique condition, with minor paper loss at seam intersections, has been flattened and backed for stability. Original poster measures approximately 39 x 25 inches. With backing it is now 43 x 29 inches. **SOLD**
