Antique ward map of part of Providence, RI, in the vicinity near the State Capitol. From the Plat Book of the City of Providence, Rhode Island, by G.M. Hopkins, 1926. Shows many railroads coming into the city to Union Station. This map was used for tax and insurance purposes and shows the property owners' names. Exchange Street to Common Street and from Pleasant Valley Parkway to Canal Street. Each color represents a different type of building: Pink is Brick, Yellow is Wood and Blue is Stone. Garages, Stables, Streets are indicated by symbol in Explanations. See Explanation key for what all the symbols indicate. Fair to good condition, with toning, wear at the paper edges, and some surface soil and mild stains. approximately 23" x 32" to the paper edges. Priced as is.
