Antique map of the British Isles or United Kingdom published by Jean-Claude Dezauche in 1800 based on an earlier map by De L'Isle. The title translates to "The British Isles where are the Royal England taken from Speed, that of Scotland taken from Th. Pont, etc., and that of Ireland taken from Petti, All corrected by various Observations By G. De L'Isle, ... Dezauche... Revised and Corrected in 1800." Shows provinces, counties, towns, some topography. Highly decorative cartouche with a sea monster, kelpies, merfolk, and Neptune. Very good restored condition with some signs of age, mostly at the paper edges that can be hidden with a mat when framing. Measures approx. 19 x 25 inches to the neatline.
