Antique hand colored map of North America, Central America, and South America. Published in Walch's "Neuester Schul-Atlass," 1826. Written in German. Shows Greenland and present-day Canada connected by land. Mexico and Central America are New Spain at this time. Includes some of the Polynesian Islands (including the Hawaiian Islands,) as well as the Azores. As is customary with earlier maps of this area, the scale and other details are quite inaccurate. Good to very good overall antique condition with toning and foxing throughout (with some heavier foxing towards the outer edges.) Measures approximately 8.5" x 7" to the neatline.
