Full title: Plate 90. Approaches to New Orleans, February 14th, 1863 / Positions occupied by the 4th Division , 17th Army Corps. during Battle of Atlanta, Ga., July 22nd, 1864 / plus 9 small maps. Antique lithograph by Julius Bien & Co published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies published under the direction of the Hon. Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War, 1893. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography and Union or Confederate locations. Titles of the smaller map are: Part of Paulding County; Map showing the Lines near New Hope Church, GA; positions near East Point; Position of Army of Tennessee near Atlanta GA; Position of the Second Division, 14th Army Corps, in Front of Savannah, GA; Map of the Vicinity of Mechanicsville, VA; Map of Spanish Fort, Ala.; vicinity of Spanish Fort; Spanish Fort, drawn during siege 1865. Very good condition with mild image transfer, a few minor spots/stains and a touch of foxing, and some staining and wear to the paper edges. This sheet has some minor vertical creases that are not very noticeable. Measures approx. 16 x 27 inches to the outer border lines.
