Antique hand colored map of a southern section of the United States- Virginia (includes West Virginia), North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. Published in 1855. Shows the locations of Indian settlements and some topographical detail, including a few notes (e.g. "Herds of Buffaloes and Wild Horses" in Texas.) Good condition with some toning and foxing of the antique paper. Measures approximately 7" x 9.25" to include all content.
