Engraved chart from early nautical gazetteer produced first in England and after 1796 in Boston, Massachusetts. Coverage includes Seville, Cape St. Vincent, Sagres, Setuval, Lisbon, Coimbra, and Oporto. Depth soundings appear offshore, and below the fleur-de-lis it reads, "About this spot is supposed to exist a submarine volcano that occasioned the earthquake Nov 1, 1755." This piece measures 9 x 7.5 inches and is in good to very good antique condition with overall minor toning and small tears at bottom margin. **SOLD**
