Maker: Bromley.
Antique map of part of Boston, MA, from the Atlas of the City of Boston, Boston Proper and Back Bay, published by G. W. Bromley and Co., 1902. Includes the area near the Columbus Avenue Playground, now Carter Playground, and the Piano Craft Guild and generally the areas between Northampton St and Windsor St, and between Shawmut Ave and the railroad tracks. These maps were created for tax and insurance purposes and the buildings are coloured by type- the color key was only included on the index, but yellow is wood, pink is brick, grey is stone, and blue is iron. Each property is labeled with the property owner's name. Large numbers designate wards. North is oriented to the upper left. Shows roads, railroads, public spaces, etc. Good condition with small water stains at bottom corners, mild surface soil/stains, slight wrinkling of the page, edge wear, and overall toning that is darker at the paper edges. Each page of the atlas has a leather tab and the tabs have stained the opposite page. Pages are backed with linen. Should look good when framed- some signs of age will still be visible. Measures approx. 22 x 32 inches to the paper edges.
