Maker: Bromley.
Antique map of part of Boston, MA, from the Atlas of the City of Boston, Boston Proper and Back Bay, published by G. W. Bromley and Co., 1902. Includes the area south of the Boston Common and Public Garden showing the area between Boylston St and Melrose St, Berkeley St and Tremont St with the Emerson College area and Colonial Theatre. These maps were created for tax and insurance purposes and the buildings are coloured by type- the color key was only included on the index, but yellow is wood, pink is brick, grey is stone, and blue is iron. Each property is labeled with the property owner's name. Large numbers designate wards. North is oriented to the top. Shows roads, railroads, public spaces, etc. Good condition with mild folds along center fold and on left side, small water stains at bottom corners, mild surface soil/stains, slight wrinkling of the page, edge wear, and overall toning that is darker at the paper edges. Each page of the atlas has a leather tab and the tabs have stained the opposite page. Pages are backed with linen. Should look good when framed- signs of age will still be visible. Measures approx. 22 x 32 inches to the paper edges.
