Antique woodcut map of Switzerland. North is oriented to the bottom. The Obersee Bodensee is on the left. Lucern (Lucerna) and Bern (Berna) can be found on the map and surely other recognizable cities and towns will become apparent with study. Shows rivers, lakes, mountains, cities, and towns. From the 1535 Lyon edition of Ptolemy's Geographia edited by M. Servetus and published by M. and G. Trechsel, printed from the 1522 woodblocks from the first Fries edition. This map has a decorative title banner on top, which only appears in this 1535 edition. Very good antique condition with minor toning, some wear, wrinkles, small tears, and a hole at the paper edges. Measures approx. 12 x 16.5 inches to the neatline (title excluded). Total page size is 16.25 x 22 inches.
