Full title: Plate 105. Rebel Defenses Mobile, Ala., April 12th, 1865 / plus 8 smaller maps. Antique lithograph by Julius Bien & Co published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies published under the direction of the Hon. Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War, 1893. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography and Union or Confederate locations. Smaller maps are titled: This Map Exhibits the Lines of the Enemy in Our possession up to date; Main Line of the Enemy's Works in Front of Petersburg VA upon the Advance of the United States Forces; Affair at Rappahannock Station, VA; Position of the 3rd Division 23rd Army Corps. At Columbia, TN; Operations from New Berne, NC to Kingston; Battle-field of West Harpeth River, TN; Operations in Front of Wilmington, NC; Battle of Franklin, TN. Very good condition with mild image transfer, a few minor spots/stains and a touch of foxing, and some staining and wear to the paper edges. Measures approx. 16 x 27 inches to the outer border lines.
