Antique uncolored copper plate map of Cayenne, the capital of French Guiana, from Allain Manesson Mallet's "Description de l'Univers" published in 1683. This interesting map shows rivers, Fort St Louis, and islands, as well as a great naval battle. Very good antique condition. The verso text is slighly visible. Measures approx. 5.5 x 3.75 inches to the neatline and 8.5 x 5.5 inches to the paper edges.
