Antique black and white engraving published in the London Magazine c. 1780 showing the Foundling Hospital, a London children's home for the care and education for deserted children. The building was demolished in the 1920s when the hospital moved outside the city. It was established in 1741 by a wealthy sea captain and over 25,000 children were cared for. Matted. Very good condition with folds as issued, dark strike. Approx. 7.5 x 10 inches.
