Antique map of the railroads of Maine, by Rand Avery Supply Co., published in In The Maine Woods, 1936. This map focuses on Maine north of Bangor, with a blue grid that indicates towns, red line is the Bangor Aroostook railroad, black lines are other railroads. It is interesting to note that many of the blue squares are marked with a combination of numbers and letters. Much of the Maine wilderness is still unorganized territory. This map shows topography, lakes, rivers, etc. It goes as far north as the St Lawrence River and includes some connecting railroads in Canada. Measures approx. 25 x 17.5 inches to the neatline. This map comes with the original 1936 guide book that includes many photographs and small maps. Very good antique condition with folds as issued, and some additional creases
