Antique map of the United States created by James Gardner (also spelled Gardiner), and published by the United States Geological and Geographical Survey of the Territories in their report book, 1873. The circles indicate places of which the elevations are given in the text (not included). Shows railroads, rivers, states, some cities, etc. Very good antique condition with some wear in the margins. Folds as issued. This map was backed by a previous owner on light-weight paper to stabilize it. Measures approx. 15 x 22 inches to the neatline.
