Antique hand colored map, from Mitchell's "New Universal Atlas", 1846. Mitchell acquired the copyright to Tanner's New Universal Atlas in 1846, and the company also switched to steel engraving at that time. This map is colored by Sangiacs or Pachalies, which are also numbered and correspond to the key at right. Very good condition with overall toning, 11.75 x 9.5 inches to the outer edge of the decorative border.
