Antique hand colored map, from Mitchell's "New Universal Atlas, Containing Maps of the Various Empires, Kingdoms, States and Republics of the World, With a Special Map of Each of the United States, Plans of Cities, etc.", 1851. Very good overall antique condition, slight toning, 13 x 16 inches. This map is similar to MWE083 but careful study reveals differences in the size and shapes of counties in the south and west parts of the state (for example on this map there is a Van Buren county on the west border but on MWE083 it has been divided and renamed to Cass and Vernon Counties).
