Full title: Plate 75. Sketch of vicinity of Fort Fisher with inset of Fort Buchanan/ Plan of Fort Fisher, January 15, 1865 / Plan of Final Attack on Fort Fisher and Adjoining Rebel Works, January 15th, 1865.

Antique lithograph by Julius Bien & Co published in the Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies published under the direction of the Hon. Daniel S. Lamont, Secretary of War, 1893. The atlas was published as a companion piece to the Official Records of the American Civil War. It contains maps and other images derived from materials generated by both Union and Confederate military personnel during the American Civil War. The atlas was printed in 35 parts between 1891 and 1895. Printed color indicates topography and Union or Confederate locations. Fort Fisher was a Confederate fort that protected trading routes in North Carolina and it was located on one of Cape Fear River's outlets. Very good condition with mild image transfer, a few minor spots/stains and a touch of foxing, and some staining and wear to the paper edges. Measures approx. 16 x 27 inches to the outer border lines.
