This map is from Howard Stansbury's report and survey, published by the War Dept (Gales & Seaton, print), concerning the practicability of extending steam boat navigation up the Cumberland River. Detailed map of small portions of the Cumberland River showing riverine obstructions such as shoals or falls (navigability of the Cumberland River being the chief purpose of the map). This map has folds as issued. It is in very good antique condition with minor wear along the folds and at the paper edges. Some tiny spots and tight margin. Measures approx. 8.5 x 12.5 inches to the paper edges.
