Antique hand colored map that focuses on the railroads in certain populated areas of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. This map was published in 1872 by Asher & Adams. The Colorado portion focuses on the area around Denver showing the Kansas Pacific Railroad running from Kit Carson to Junction and the Denver Pacific Railroad traversing from Pueblo, CO to Cheyenne, WY. At the top of the page is part of the route of the Union Pacific Railroad from Julesburg, Nebraska to Aspen, Wyoming. The line is continued in the inset on the left side of the page, showing the railroad continuing from Wyoming into Utah. The Utah portion focuses on the area around Salt Lake City but also includes the Central Pacific Railroad to Pekoville NV (near Deeth- Pekoville either never existed or has ceased to exist). An area to the west of Great Salt Lake is labeled Great American Desert. This map shows early counties in each state and the beginning of mapping out the towns and counties. Very good condition with some mild toning that is a bit darker at the paper edges and in the fold. Approx. 15.75 x 22.75 inches to the neatline.
