Antique hand colored map of Washington, D.C. by Mitchell, 1882, with wards delineated by color and including landmarks such as the Capitol, "President's House," Washington Monument, National Observatory, US Navy Yard, U.S. Arsenal, Patent Office and Coast Survey. Also includes general layout of city blocks and names of major streets showing the well-known design created by Pierre Charles L'Enfant. Features a decorative grapevine border. Very good overall antique condition with very mild toning, a few tiny spots, and a paper strip at bottom. Measures approximately 11.25" x 13.5" (H x W) to the outer edges of the decorative border.
