Antique coastal chart showing the progress of work being done to the Potomac River at the coast of Washington D.C. to accompany the annual report of 1885. Overseen by the Major of Engineers, Peter C. Hains, and Published by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Recent Hand Coloring. Map notes Alexander's Island, Analostan Island, Giesboro Point, and includes information regarding changes in the coastline, channel dredged, fill made on flats, wall foundation completed, water depths, etc. With folds, as issued. Map has been cleaned and rebacked, and is in very good overall antique condition with mild toning throughout.
