Antique map of the world by from A New and Improved School Atlas to Accompany the Practical System of Modern Geography by J. Olney, published by D.F. Robinson & Co., 1830. Engraved by E. Huntington. Notable features in the map: Mountains of the Moon in Africa, Lake Victoria and source of the Nile unknown, in Australia areas labeled Napoleon's Land, Edel's Land, and De Witt's Land, very little known of the coast of Antarctica. This map includes two scales, the left showing the Heights of Mountains in English Miles, the right scale shows the lengths of the longest days, also the zones and climates. Good condition with some small spots, mild surface soil, seam separation along the fold near the paper edges. Measures approx. 12 x 18.5 inches to the paper edges.
