Antique map of North America from 1851. This map was originally colored with just outline color, some of which is still visible, but most of the color was added later . Surrounded by the vignettes characteristic of Tallis, Ancient Monument, Mexico, North American Indians, Wapiti Deer, Cossacks, Esquimaux Dog-Sledge, Mount Hekla, Beavers, Falls of Niagara, Convoy of Diamonds, with ornate decorative border. Very good condition, with some minor signs of age in the margins including mild stains and a crease in the lower right corner. Measures approx. 14 x 9.5 inches. Matted.
