Antique hand-colored wall map of the town of Sandwich, MA, published in 1857 by H.F. Walling. At this time, Bourne was part of Sandwich- Bourne was incorporated in 1884. With an inset map of Sandwich Village. This wall map details roads, public areas, and features property owner's names. Only two Cape Cod towns had wall maps made (Sandwich and Barnstable) and this map pre-dates the well known 1858 Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket Counties wall map by 2 years. Very good restored condition- archivally cleaned, deacidified. This map is backed with linen and hung on wooden rods with silk ribbon on edges.
