Antique steel-plate engraving print showing a scene of the Mississippi River at New Orleans, Louisiana with boats, steamships, cargo, and impressive buildings in the distance. Recent hand-coloring. Image is in very good condition with minimal signs of age. By Appleton, from William Cullen Bryant's classic work, "Picturesque America." Image measures approximately 6.25" x 9.25". Note: any "rainbows" or strange patterns in the image are called moire pattern- caused by taking a digital photo or scan of the many parallel lines in the print- these are not in the print and we can try to take more photos if you are concerned.
