Antique nautical sailing chart by George Eldridge, published by Thaxter & Son, Boston. Great detail of eastern Long Island, north shore of Long Island and Connecticut shoreline. Includes an inset of Manhattan with the New York City and Brooklyn areas shaded in. Vibrant hand-colored markers for lighthouses and lightships. Some pencil markings from a previous owner who used the chart for navigation. Very good condition, restored (cleaned, deacidified, backed with linen), some very slight stains from use.
