Genuine Antique Print
1891
Maker: Harper's Weekly
Antique print showing a view of on Lake George from a boat, drawn by W.P. Snyder and published in Harper's Weekly on July 25th, 1891. A woman in a boat in the distance holds up two fish she caught and a gentleman in the boat from which the view is drawn waves his handkerchief. In the farther distance are other ships, and beyond them, the mountains rise. The occupants of the boat from which the view is drawn are dressed in their best day-on-the-lake outfits, including a man in a wide-striped coat and several figures wearing nautical style clothing. Very good overall antique condition with mild toning of the paper and some mild vertical lines in the image that look a bit like rain but are probably not intended to be part of the image. Measures approximately 11.25" x 8.75" to the neatline (not including the Harper's Weekly title). Total page measures 15.75 x 10.5 inches. Note: any "rainbows" or strange patterns in the image are called moire pattern- caused by taking a digital photo or scan of the many parallel lines in the print- these are not in the print and we can try to take more photos if you are concerned.
