Beautiful, rare, large lithographed folding map of the Adirondack Mountains in New York published by S.R. Stoddard in 1893 Sixteenth (Revised) edition. Original color with the counties colored and the Adirondack Park colored in brighter oranges and pinks with a thicker black boundary line. The park has changed over time and this is not the current extent of the park, although much of the modern day park is included on the map. Shows towns, villages, lakes, rivers, mountains, railroads, wagon roads, steamboat routes, proposed roads, telegraph offices, with decorative border. This map has been professionally restored: flattened, cleaned, and backed. Very good overall condition, some repaired paper loss, some slight waviness to the paper. Measures approx. 31.75 x 25.5 inches to the outer edge of the decorative border.
