Vintage map of the United States published c. 1955 by the General Drafting Co, Inc. This map of the US features illustrations of regional resources, products, and natural features. An inset map in the upper right shows the location of the USA in relation to the rest of the world, while inset maps at the bottom show Principal Trunk-Line Railroads, Principal Air Routes and Terrain, and Principal Trunk Line Highways. In the lower right is an inset Pictorial Guide to New Jersey showing the state with highways and illustrations. On the back side is another map of the US showing distances and long distance telephone rates. This map was sponsored by the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company and the back side also has photographs and information about New Jersey and Telephones in the US. It is undated but mentions the 50 millions telephone was installed in 1953. This map was published many times in various iterations. Good condition, with folds as issued. Some wear at the fold intersections. Some slight wrinkles, some spots, and some mild crayon marks from a previous owner. Approx. 23 x 31 inches to the neatline.
