Colorful 1978 map of Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, by Blaise Domino, 1978. Oriented with the Charles River at the bottom, the map features Harvard Yard prominently in the center distance. Many buildings are labeled, from the University buildings to the restaurants, churches, Brattle Theatre, shops, banks, bookstores, the Harvard Coop, and the site of Longfellow's "Spreading Chestnut Tree." A charming and fascinating glimpse into the area in the late 1970s. The brick and ivy border pay homage to the famous old brick buildings of Harvard and the general area. Very good vintage condition with some minor wrinkling/creasing of the paper mostly at the edges, some damage at the paper edges including the corners where there are pin holes, and the bottom edge which has some small tears, the largest of which is on the bottom left. Many of the imperfections can be hidden with a mat or frame when framing. Measures approximately 38 x 25 inches to the paper edges.
