Antique engraved chart from Malham's Naval Gazetteer published in 1797. This chart features the west coast of France from Brest to Bayonne on the Spanish border, including a section of Normandy from Avranche to Brest and southward to Quimper, Nantes, Isles Noirmoutier, La Rochelle, the Garonne or Gironde River, Bordeaux & Cap du Nord. Depth soundings appear offshore with a decorative compass at the center of the rhumb lines in the bay. Measures approximately 9.25 x 7.25 inches to the neatline. Very good overall antique condition with minor toning, some creasing near the fold.
